Placed throughout the Regional Natural Park of Corsica, Orma Architettura has designed three Deer Observatories. The wooden towers are situated on elevated clearings on the French island including St Pierre de Venaco, Castifao, and Quenzato, to take advantage of the area’s high concentration of passing red deer, which disappeared in 1969 and has now been reintroduced to the area, thanks to the program put together by Regional Natural Park of Corsica and this project looks to raise awareness about the species and their fragile existence. Each lookout was built by local artisans and features a rectilinear form made from timber slats. The small openings between planks allow for those inside to view the wildlife without disrupting roaming wildlife beneath.
