What We Want This Week

Acqua di Parma Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura Fragrance

Acqua di Parma have launched a new Limited Edition fragrance for the Summer, Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura. As with all the fragrances in the Blu Mediterraneo Collection, they each take inspiration from a specific part of the Italian Mediterranean, the origin for this fragrance being the beautiful bergamot fields of Calabria. It is here where a special and rare process of juice extraction by hand is used; “La Spugnatura”. Practiced by only a few artisans in the world, the bergamot essence is manually extracted in this fascinating traditional process, a true art which requires time and skilful, precise gestures. It is then housed in a beautifully hand finished porcelain bottle in the deep blue colour, embellished with beautiful golden bergamot fruits.

Timberland Boat Shoe

Before 1978, boat shoes were fairly limited to, well, the boat scene. According to Timberland it took its rugged boot lug outsole and combined it with a premium handsewn leather boat shoe upper. This never-before-seen style had all the craftsmanship and inspiration of a boat shoe, with rugged performance for the outdoors. The following year, Timberland developed its own slip-resistant soles for on-deck performance, pairing them with handsewn leather uppers to create the brand’s first true boat shoe in 1979. Ever since, Timberland has continued to innovate and improve on its iconic styles and today, as part of Timberland’s vision for a greener future, all the brand’s boat shoes are made with Better Leather sourced from tanneries audited and rated silver or gold by the Leather Working Group, based on water, energy and waste management practices.

Panerai Luminor Chrono Goldtech Blu Notte

Panerai began perfecting its expertise in the chronography category as early as 1943, the reference year of the Mare Nostrum project, a model designed to serve the deck officers of the Italian Navy, developed only to the prototype stage, one of which is today carefully preserved in the Panerai museum in Florence. Its mastery has extended into the 21st century, with the introduction of a series of efficient, high-performance new proprietary calibres developed by the research and development department within the Neuchâtel manufacture, the legendary Laboratorio di Idee, a hub for innovation and avant-garde imagination. Panerai’s return to the field of chronography is enhanced by the preciousness of Panerai GoldtechTM, a type of gold distinguished by high percentages of copper and platinum, the metals responsible for its intense colour, and heightened resistance to oxidation. This alloy lends an aesthetic dimension and mechanical properties that do not go unnoticed in the Luminor Chrono GoldtechTM Blu Notte. The piece is shielded by a smokey sapphire glass window, integrated into the case-back and decorated in a wave pattern through a metallisation process, the movement is the new Caliber P.9200 and the self-winding chronograph features a 42- hour power reserve, resulting from the energy stored inside a single barrel. Water-resistant up to 5 bar. £23,800, Available June 2021 Panerai.com
