Nestled in the grasslands of Twizel, New Zealand, the Skylark Cabin is a modest retreat designed to take advantage of the area’s dramatic landscapes. The home is comprised of two entities, each clad in blackened Siberian larch with contrasting orange framing. Internally, walls and ceilings are lined with warm wood panels with a skylight over the master bed. Thoughtfully placed glazing integrates the surrounding scenery into the interior, framing in views of the Black Hills, Backbone Peak, and the Ben Ohau range. Located in one of the world’s largest Dark Sky Reserves, circular skylights showcase the night-time vistas overhead. Find Out More Barryconnordesign.co.nz
