Percival and Brighton based artist and illustrator Sophy Hollington have collaborated on an exclusive apparel collection inspired by the Icelandic ghost story, The Deacon of Dark River. Not being one to cut corners, Sophy produced hand-carved linocuts for the collection, which were embroidered and screen printed in London, on Percival’s 220-gram cotton jersey. The Deacon of Dark River tells the story of a woman who is conned into going for a horse ride with the ghost of her dead boyfriend – we’re sure many can relate – and former deacon. The ghost tries to pull her into his grave, but she manages to struggle free. The riding scene is focal in Sophie’s design, depicted on all pieces in the collection along with the quote “The moon glides, death rides”. The collection includes two long-sleeve tees in black and white options, two short sleeve tee options, black sweatshirt and to finish a white ‘Hodie’ hoodie. The collection is available on Percivalclo.com and at the Percival Soho store.
